This small example is of elliptical form and rests upon an applied double ogee form foot. The kashkul is hand raised and wrought from heavy gauge beaten sheet copper - applied handle lugs at the left and right extremes take the form of highly stylised dragon heads. The vessel is finished with intricate chiseled and chased decoration - broad chinar leaves are depicting growing from meandering vines. The foot incorporates a trailing vine. The surface has retained the original tinned finish. Length - 5 3/16" (133mm). max height - 2 5/8" (67mm). Weight - 112 grams. Condition: Very Good. Minor surface marks etc. No repairs.
