Description
Sectionally cast in copper alloy, (brass). The example incorporates an integrally cast hinge arrangement. One area of which shows signs of a suspension mounting, (not present for a considerable period).
Internally, an integral hemispherical cover incorporates a central hole encircled by panelled decoration, allowing spatular access to the lime compartment.
This example retains an encrusted build-up of lime, consistent with age and sustained usage.
Maximum length - 2 3/4" (70mm).
Weight - 185g.
Condition: Good. Surface marks and minor bruises, (consistent with genuine age and usage). No repairs. Natural colour and patina.
