The outer hinged cover neatly closes over the opening to the box. The cover is embellished with chased floral scrollwork, incorporating a pair of exotic birds. Bands of simple reeded decoration embellish the exterior of the box. Internally, the box is sub divided - a pair of hinged covers close over a pair of compartments. Both covers are finished with tooled decoration, corresponding with the main cover face. An open central compartment is also incorporated. Size: length - 5" (127mm), width - 2 5/8" (67mm), height - 1 3/4" (45mm). Weight - 240 grams. Condition - Very Good. Minor surface marks, consistent with age and usage. Natural colour and patina.
