Description

Hand constructed from split rattan and coated in layers of dense red lac, creating a 'smooth' and even surface finish.
Both end faces are finished in a black lac and incorporate calligraphy within the foliate gilt lacquer decoration.
Signs of genuine age and usage.
Size: Height - 4 1/4" (108mm), length - 10 1/8" (257mm).
Weight: 415 grams.
Condition: Fair - Good. An area of red lac lost through usage, (see images). The usual surface marks, (also consistent with genuine age and usage). No repair-work and natural colour and patina.
