Cast in bronze, this unique example is of circular form - hand finished with tooled decoration. A pair of integral lugs to the reverse face allowed a support or wall suspension cord to be mounted. Four rectangular cartouches are inscribed, "Kurose Heishichi Tensei, 13 May, Year of the Tiger - Given to the Shinto Shrine Taguchi, Osaka". Both faces have now mellowed to a a deep natural aged bronze appearance. Overall diameter: 9 9/16" (243mm). Weight: 941 grams. Condition: Good. A 'shadow' to the reflective face, caused by an old suspension wire linkage. No cracks or dents. No repairs. Natural colour and patina. Internal Ref: JA 1010
