Cast using the 'lost wax' process, both examples resting upon a shaped foot-rim - the supports influenced by Chinese tastes and designs. A broad central baluster incorporates a band of lobed embellishment - bands of traditional geometric motifs further embellish the external surfaces. The broad rims are created in the form of lotus flower heads - the petals curing over and outward from the centre. A band of pierced decoration is cast at the petal bases. Three original drainage holes are incorporated to the base of both planters. Size: height - 5" (127mm), max diameter - 13 1/4" (337mm). Weight(s): 1862 grams & 1667 grams. Condition: Very Good.
