Description

Hand carved from a single section of native timber, incorporating a section of natural animal hide forming the hair. The face is set with sections of worked chert form hard-stone. Shaped and pierced sections of copper form the eyes. Applied polychrome pigments embellish the mouth and teeth.
This example has retained the original hand written card label, "STONE GIANT MASK", "by Hadaje'grenta -Grey Flying Cloud- Cayuga", (see final two images).
Height, (excluding hair) - 11 3/4" (324mm).
Weight - 774 grams.
Condition - Very Good. Untouched, no repairs or alterations - fine natural colour and patina.
