Description

Of tapering, hexagonal, 'castle-top' form, constructed from high grade silver, (consistent with Sterling). The cover sections are threaded at the opening(s) - neatly locating above each corresponding base. Both covers incorporate a central ball form finial.
The base sections are embellished with finely hand tooled foliate scroll-work - the decoration typical of silverware from the Kutch silversmiths. The cover recesses are also finished with chiseled and chased scrollwork.
The undersides of both examples are clearly stamped with the makers mark, "O.M. BHUJ" - (Oomersee Mawji (Mawjee) (O.M.), ca. 1870

Height(s) - 2 3/8" (60mm).
Weight(s) - 2.22oz + 2.30oz Troy, (69 +69.9 grams).
Condition - Very Good. The decoration remains 'sharp' and 'crisp'. Minor surface marks, (consistent with age and usage) - no repairs. Natural colour and patina.
