Cast using the 'lost wax' process, turned and hand worked. Both examples are of tapering baluster form, resting upon a ring turned circular foot. The 'bud' form upper extremes are centrally pierced - a tapering 'spout' is incorporated at the shoulder area. The surfaces are finished with chiseled decoration - the decoration incorporates traditional floral elements and motifs, including the 'hooked cross'. The small size of would indicate that this type of kindi, or kendi, was created to be carried whilst travelling. Height(s) - 4 1/4" (108mm) & 4 1/8" (105mm). Weight(s) - 264 & 352 grams. Condition: Very Good. No cracks or dents. No repairs. Minor surface marks etc. (consistent with age and usage). Natural colour and patina. Internal Ref: SEA 1066
