Smaller example - BA 1106
Skilfully hand constructed from split rattan, this more unusual box type example forms a headrest, or pillow with the cover and precisely fitting tray elements assembled into in the closed position.
The concave outer 'rest' section incorporates two integral rattan lugs, allowing a carry strap to be mounted.
Size: length - 8 1/4" (210mm), height - 6" (150mm), depth - 4 3/8" (111mm).
Weight - 269 grams.
Condition: Very Good. Signs of age and usage, encrusted with a natural resinous coating to the exterior. No restoration. Natural colour and patina.
