Created from heavy gauge beaten and worked copper, this example is of 'chinar' leaf form and rests upon a tripod foot, formed by three applied copper spheres. Hand cut fret-work, (jail-work), forms pierced decoration. The surface is finished with complex chiseled decoration - trailing vines incorporate crescent motifs. A symmetrical scrolling foliate lattice forms the central tooled embellishment - detailed by the additional images. The applied handle takes the form of a serpent, or snake. Size: max width - 8" (204mm), length - 8 5/8" (219mm), height - 3" (76mm). Weight - 670 grams. Condition - Very Good. No dents and no repairs. The tooled decoration remains 'sharp & crisp".
