Cast using the 'lost wax' process, resting on a raised and scalloped flaring foot. A pair of ornate integral mounting lugs support the hinged strap form handle. A panelled scrolling spout rises from the broadest area of the vessel. The spout incorporates an ornate pierced and shaped upper brace. The kettle is cast with bands of repeating 'pellet' form embellishment. The circular cover is also of cast form and locates within the vessel's opening by a recessed collet type lip. The cover is cast with a central bud form knop. A small integral lug is cast close to one of the handle mountings - the lug couples to a brass chain, linking the vessel to the cover knop. Height, (handle raised) - 10 3/8" (263mm). Weight - 1,559 grams. Condition: Good. The usual casting flaws, to the spout and also the handle - each of which 'patched' by the maker. Surface marks consistent with age and usage. Untouched natural colour and patina. Internal Ref: SEA 1019
