Selected, carved and shaped from the natural growth of an 'Iron-Wood' tree, this example of plain form. The large, slightly compressed spherical head is extremely dense - the timber a deep red and rich, almost black, natural colour. The integral shaft curves from the head - the span slightly 'waisted' in appearance. The grip base is undecorated and original in form. Overall length - 17 3/4" (451mm). Weight - 535 grams. Condition: Very Good, (untouched). Signs of genuine age - wear to the broadest region of the head. Fine natural colour and 'deep' patina. Internal Ref: O 1005
