Cast in brass, this unusual example is of cylinder form and rests upon an integral tripod foot arrangement. The cover incorporates a 'bayonet' mounting arrangement, a cast lug to the cover rim must be aligned within a corresponding slot to the rim of the opening, rotating the cover retains the cover in place, closing to a flush appearance. The cover is cast with a complex central finial. Bands of ring turning contain stylised lotus petals and a central trailing vine. Overall height - 5 1/8" (130mm), max diameter - 2 7/8" (74mm). Weight - 466 grams. Condition - Very Good. No cracks or dents. Minor surface marks etc. associated with age and usage. No repairs. Fine natural colour and patina. Internal Ref: IM 1020
