Description
Hand raised and skilfully jointed from beaten sections of brass, copper and silver. A recessed circular collet type lip locates the cover in position. The cover is of stepped, conical form and incorporates settings of turquoise stone. Applied silver embellishments are embossed with traditional motifs - including the gordian, or 'endless' knot. The inset base panel is formed from copper and incorporates a tooled 'wheel of life'.Complex chased and embossed decoration of stylised floral form embellishes the entire surface.
Corresponding lugs to the base section and cover are mounted with a silver and brass chain linkage. An Edwardian British colonial silver coin forms the central element to the chain - one face of the coin is set with a central semi-precious stone.
Internally, the Timmi is lime encrusted and shows signs of genuine age and usage.
Overall diameter - 2 3/4" (70mm), height - 2 1/8" (54mm).
Weight - 96 grams.
Condition: Very Good. No cracks or repairs, minor surface marks etc, (not spoiling the appearance and consistent with age and usage).
