Description

Hand constructed from silver, the traditional form very much in the manner of a 'pocket watch'. The hinged casing is of compressed circular form, elliptical in profile. A hinged catch at the chain linkage mounting lug retains the cover in the closed position.
The chain linkage incorporates an ornate small hook at the final link extreme - the link couples with the wrought silver lime spatula.
The hinges are of highly ornate form - both cover faces incorporate a complex lattice of embossed decoration.
Internally, the box is encrusted with lime and shows signs of age and usage throughout.
Size: Box length - 2 3/8" (61mm), diameter - 1 11/16" (48mm).
Weight: 1.25oz Troy, 38.8 grams.
Condition: Very Good. No cracks or dents, no repairs. Natural colour and patina.
