Cast using the 'lost wax' process from copper alloy (bronze), this unusual example hand tooled and finished. The seated male figure is depicted wearing traditional costume and headdress. The figure's left hand holds the foot of the crossed right leg, whilst the raised right hand grips a beaker form cup. A 'bottle' is integral to the raised circular plinth. Elements of the original clay mould core have remained in place within the casting - see images, (underside). Size: overall height - 5 1/2" (140mm), max width - 4 7/8" (124mm). Weight - 870 grams Condition: Good: A section of the plinth rim, (left side), appears purposely removed and shaped by the maker - purpose unknown. A single crack to the rear of the plinth rim. 'Soft' natural rubbing and surface marks, (associated with genuine age and usage). No repairs or restoration. Super natural colour and patina. Internal Ref: SBT 1027
