Of compressed baluster form, cast in copper alloy, (brass) and resting on four integral feet. The scrolling handle takes the form of a highly stylised dragon. The long and tapering spout is of panelled form and incorporates a cast central embellishment. The cover hinge fulcrum is cast at the upper most extreme of the handle - this example is complete with the original cover. Raised tear drop shaped cartouches are finished with chiseled floral decoration. The two cartouches are central to opposing bands of raised lancet motifs. The base is sealed with a central brass plug, brazed in position - typical of Deccan / North Indian construction. Size: height - 10 7/8" (277mm), overall length - 10" (254mm). Weight - 1723 grams.
