Description
Of classical form, finely hand constructed from exotic timbers. This good example is raised by four applied cast brass lion paw feet. The satin walnut casket is embellished with mixed hardwood stringing. A moulded profile ornaments the raised base rim and cover edge. The hinged cover is retained in the closed position by a central recessed lock and steel key, (two 'turns' of the key locks / unlocks the casket).Internally, a single 'lift-out' tray is located by a pair of narrow rails. The tray is subdivided into storage compartment. The original pink plush velvet fabric lines the Interior of the cover, base area and the tray - images 3 & 4.
Width, (excl. feet) - 14 7/8" (378mm), height - 4 1/2" (115mm), depth, (excl. feet) - 8" (203mm).
Weight - 1,633 grams.
Condition - Very Good. No cracks or chips. No restoration. Minor surface marks etc. (consistent with genuine age and usage). Fine natural colour and patina.
