Hand constructed from beaten sheet copper, this unusual example takes the form of a lotus bud. The vessel rests on an applied tapering foot. The scrolling spout rises from the broadest point and incorporates a 'V' form 'birds beak' slot at the opening. The handle is of tubular form and links internally to the water carrier below - the conical element at the upper most extreme of the water reservoir is integral, not a cover. A hinged cover at the central point of the handle allows the vessel to be filled with water - the water passing through the handle into the reservoir below. Raised panels are embellished with chiseled and chased floral scrollwork - the spout and handle are also finished with hand tooled decoration. Height - 12 1/4" (311mm). Weight - 1,579 grams. Condition - Very Good. No dents or cracks. No restoration. Natural colour and patina. Internal Ref: K 1008
