Description

Of rectangular form, hand constructed from sections of native sandalwood timber. The hinged cover incorporates a recessed central lock - the lock set with diamond form brass escutcheon, (no key).
The cover and base panels are intricately carved with figurative decoration, incorporating Immortals inspecting scrolls, pagodas and prunus.
Length - 6 3/4" (172mm), height - 3 1/8" (80mm), depth - 3 3/4" (95mm).
Weight - 301 grams.
Condition - Good. The usual shrinking cracks etc. to the base and cover, at some time partially infilled with natural resin. Fine natural colour and patina.
