Description

An unusual hand formed and worked Hallmarked silver toothpick holder. The cylinder type vessel is supported by a tripod formed by silver 'bamboo' stems and a raised circular foot. Applied bamboo forms a rim at the upper opening and also the base of the cylinder.
Applied Chinese calligraphy and panels of prunus foliage embellish the surface.
Additional images detail the Hallmark, struck to the underside of the upper cylinder - WS (Woshing, Shanghai c. 1880), Chinese character mark.
Height - 2 15/16" (75mm).
Weight - 0.63oz Troy, (19.7 grams).
Condition: Good. Minor surface marks etc, (associated with age and usage). No major dents, no cracks and no repairs.
