Description
Hand constructed from elements of copper alloy and retaining much of the original gilt finish. The box is of 'heart' shaped form - the cover hinged at the recess to the upper edge and locating over a recessed lip to the base section. Complex filigree wire-work forms the sides and cover face. Raised metal settings are mounted with shaped and polished sections of coral and turquoise. A standing figure of Lord Vishnu is incorporated to the cover face - the coral face of the deity detailed with tooled features.A collection number is hand written to the inside of the cover face "38-A"
Max width - 4 1/2" (114mm), height - 1 13/16" (46mm).
Weight - 159 grams.
Condition: Very Good: Minor stone losses, typical unevenness to the base panel. No repairs. Natural colour and patina.
