Description
Hand constructed from elements of copper alloy and retaining much of the original gilt finish. The box is of lozenge shaped form - the cover hinged at one of the longer edges, (now detached from the base edge), still neatly locating over a recessed lip to the base section. Complex filigree wire-work ornaments the sides and cover face. Raised metal settings are mounted with shaped and polished sections of coral and turquoise. A figure of Lord Vishnu accompanied by Garuda are incorporated to the cover face - the coral and turquoise deity faces detailed with tooled features.Max width - 5 3/8" (137mm), height - 1 7/8" (48mm).
Weight - 190 grams.
Condition: Fair - Good: Cover hinge as described. Minor stone losses, typical unevenness to the base panel. No repairs. Natural colour and patina.
