Description

Hand constructed from heavy gauge beaten sheet copper. The 'lamp' form capital is held in position by an integral central threaded linkage between the central candle socket and the upper most shaft extreme - easily removed for cleaning away wax residue etc. A scrolling cobra forms the side handle
The surfaces are tooled with a series of raised and shaped panels, each one embellished with deeply chiseled floral scrollwork. The recessed areas to the relief cutting are polychrome enamelled - creating a contrasting appearance. Engraved decoration to the exposed areas of copper further embellishes the surfaces. The exposed metal lattice-work, enclosed base and capital interior surfaces are finely gilded.
The base is printed in ink with the maker's initials - see final image.
Height - 6 3/4" (172mm).
Weight - 396 grams
Condition - Good. Some slight wear to the capital mounting thread, (stands well when fully positioned). No enamel losses. No dents or cracks - no repair work. Fine natural colour and patina.
Internal Ref: K 1029
