Of hollow form, constructed from bronze - this unusual example depicts a standing pigeon. The bronze body is overlaid with a lattice of interlocking shaped bronze wire cloisons - each one infilled with polychrome enamel. The legs and feet are of solid bronze, finished with hand tooled detailing. Size: height - 5 13/16" (148mm), length - 7 1/4" (184mm). Weight - 256 grams Condition - Fair. Some enamel losses at a bruise to the top of the head and also an area of the breast, (see images). No other damage or losses - no repair work. Natural colour and patina. Internal Ref: CA 1025
